Kansas ! Huh ! !
The special election went "wet."
"It's better to whistle than to whine.''
The oldtimers will have to go "'way hack and sit down." The only flood stories.countenanced now by our people are those of Mr. Noah, Esq., since deceased.
Rev. C. L. Kuhn, pastor of the M. E. Church, while standing on the Cross creek bridge last Friday saw a live hen floating down the stream. He lay down and when the chicken came within reach he rescued it from a watery grave and the crowd yelled "bravo!" The parson preserved the reputation of his clan. The record remains unbroken. We'd like to see the color of a chicken's leg that can elude a Methodist preacher.
