Copyrights

The document Recollections Kansas Permission for Use of Copyrighted Materials is downloadable as a Google Doc. This is the standard form we are using to ensure that all documents and images on the Recollections:Kansas site have had display copyrights assigned to us.

On posting any content, the license you grant to us and our partners is a license to:

  • communicate such content to the public and otherwise make it available on the Recollections:Kansas and services and to amend, copy, or delete it in the course of doing so and at our discretion pursuant to any complaints in relation to such content; and
  • create and publish content (in or on any media) based on (or which include copies and/or modifications of) all or any part of the content in publications produced by OCLS or with our permission and you hereby waive any rights that you may otherwise have to any revenues arising from such use.

Other Rights

Documents and images that date from before 1923 will be considered to be in the public domain. Documents and images after that will have to be researched to determine copyright and, if necessary, a filled out copy of the Permission form linked above will need to be on file at the library.

Creative Commons

All creative commons rights will be accepted and respected on Recollections: Kansas. A full description of the Creative Commons licenses is available at the Creative Commons site.
