Subject

Although it appears to be even older,this property was recorded in 1873 as a residence on the corner of a 60-arce tract owned by Asa Darnell. In 1873(sec) the W. S. Foster residence was recorded on this property (8 acres). Later in 1902 and 1909, the property was owned by H. and H. E. Laughlin. In 1902 Harvey E. Laughlin was listed as a general merchandise dealer in Media (W. Baldwin)

Description

Detached residence, upright and wing, two front bays, coursed cut stone masonry, gable roof. Front shed porch on stone piers with gable mock dormer. 6/6 double-hung wooden windows, interior brick chimney. Decorative elements--cut stone sills and flat lintels, friezeboard. Modern porch and wood frame addition to east wing.
