Description

Announcement was made this week of the removal of the Rossville Dehydrating plant from Rossville to Platte, Nebr.

Work has been started to tear down the Plant and so soon as the machinery can be ready will be loaded out and taken to Platte.

This is a great loss to Rossville an community. [sic] Farmers have been able to market their alfalfa at home.

Bill Farley, local manager, will be transferred to Platte and take over his same duties there.

The loss of the Dehydrating plant will throw a large number of men out of jobs, with a sizeable annual payroll.

The employment the dehydrating plant has been able to furnish, to our local men has made many realize the value of the Plant and everyone regrets to lose it.

The management wanted about a thousand acres of alfalfa to assure the plants profitable operation but were unable to get over 400 acres pledged, hence the removal.
