Description

GRACE WHITE, an 89-year-old lady who lives in a little apartment right next to the post office in Rossville, is visited weekly by the church school students at the United Methodist Church. Mrs. White is unable to come to church because of failing eyesight and other physical problems, so the young people of the church bring church to her. This special group of young people have come to love Grace. They visit her at least three times a week and bring her cookies, fruit and something to drink. They hug her and ask her to tell them stories. Grace tells the kids, "You know I am a Methodist; I used to come to church in a wagon with my parents 75 years ago."
The young people had a fund raising event to get money for a needy family in Rossville this Christmas season. They used the first of the money to buy Grace a bright red jogging suit! A tiny artificial tree with some lights brings some of the Christmas beauty inside.
Christmas is giving and loving. The special bond between Grace White and the young people of the United Methodist Church in Rossville and their church school teacher, Caryl Kallaus, is evident in this photo.
