All the lots on this block were owned by J.G. Schnebly from 1886 to 1890. Dr Schnebly and his son James had two adjacent buildings constructed in 1888. James Schnebly an experienced pharmacist, operated a drugstore in this block, but apparently he did not move into this building until c. 1910. The property was a dry goods store (1893), bookstore (1899), dry goods & bookstore (1905). In 1912 and 1927, it was shown as a drugstore.

Commercial block in a row, rectangle, one story, two bays, brick and stone masonry construction, flat roof and parppet. Storefront substantially altered, modern recessed front with stuccoed facade.
