Subject

The earliest Methodist Church in Baldwin was dedicated July 24, 1870 (see B355). When the congregation outgrew this hall, services were held in Centenary Hall at Baker University from 1885 to 1904. The church building dedicated February 14, 1904 was destroyed by fire in 1930. The present church was constructed on the same site and completed in 1932.

Description

Church, ell plan with sanctuary SW, one-and-a-half stories, smooth-cut random ashlar stone veneer, steep gable roof. Late Gothic Revival style ornamental pointed arched sanctuary window W, square entrance bell tower in ell with paired wooden doors in a pointed arched opening, parapet and buttresses ornament the gable ends.
