Title

Building in Prairie City

Subject

The location of this house adjacent to the Shore & McWhinney Store building reflects the location of Mt. Pleasant Street in Prairie City town site. The three-story stone McAllaster Hotel was constructed in the vicinity. The current residence reported that this dwelling dates from that period, so it may have been moved to this location.

Description

Detached residence, rectangle with modern side entrance, wood frame construction, rubble stone foundation. Alterations--original rear shed-roofed kitchen altered, modern front hipped porch and entrance, modern siding.
