Carrie and Sarah Markham sold this property to H. J. Allen and others in 1902. Allen was a trustee of Delta Tau Delta fraternity. W. C. Markham, Carrie's husband, was president of the board of trustees. F. M. Hartley acquired the property, described as a "frat building" in 1910. The house was illustrated in the 1908 Souvenir.

Detached residence, square with projecting gable bays and side front entrance, two stories, two front bays, wood frame construction with weatherboard on first floor and shingles on second, coursed rough-cut stone foundation, high hipped roof. Hipped front porch on columns with brick piers, 2/2 wooden double-hung windows, bay window beside and above entrance, glazed wooden entrance door, interior brick chimney SE, roof dormers NE and W, shed addition SSE.
