Crossarm down in Rossville
The railroad crossing pole and crossarm at US 24 Hwy at Main Street in Rossville was not damaged as an act of vandalism as might first be suspected. A train was pulling a flat car loaded with army tanks when apparently one of the turrets on the tank swayed, knocking down the crossing pole. It also hit a sign west of town and the railroad bridge over Cross Creek. The mishap occurred Saturday evening, September 23, about 6:30.
