Title
Red Parr, Kansas Livestock Association President
Description
Rossville's Roland “Red" Parr is New KLA President
Roland “Red” Parr of Rossville became the new president of the Kansas Livestock Association December 5, 1975.
He lives southwest of Rossville, maintains a 300-head calf feeder operation, and farms 1,100 acres with his brother-in-law and partner, Bob Gentry.
He has been a member of K.L.A. for 14 years, served on the Board of Directors for three years, and was named President-elect in 1974.
He admits that with his new position comes increased obligations and responsibility but “it’s a two-way street,” he says. “I gain as much as I give and I meet lots of new friends.”
Red will be traveling all over the state this coming year with a busy schedule which he said would be almost impossible without Bob’s help keeping things running at home.
He has lived near Rossville all his life as has his father. His great-grandfather originally settled on what is now Phillip Billiard Airport in Topeka.
He and his wife, Irene, have two children Catherine, a Kansas State graduate, is now a second year medical student. His son, Howard, is a sophomore at K-State.
