This farm house is significant as the property of Bishop William A. Quayle (See also B352). Quayle graduated from Baker University in 1885 and became president in 1890. He left in 1894 to become pastor of a Kansas City church. Quayle was named a bishop of the Methodist Episcopal Church in 1908. Quayle was recorded as the owner of this property from c. 1902 until his death in 1925.
Description
Farm residence, rectangle with central entrance, two stories, wood frame construction, stone foundation (parged), sidegable roof. Gable entry on brackets, 1/1 wooden double-hung windows, nine-light glazed wooden entrance door. Substantially altered--modern siding, one story rear gable addition, exterior brick chimney E.
