Subject

George Meeder and his wife Barbara came to Kansas in 1857. He received a patent on the SW 16-14-21 in 1866. The Meeders were prominent members of the Clearfield community. The house on this property was buildt about 1880. When the Meeders died in 1883, their daughters, Sarah and Minnie inherited the farm. Minnie received the north 80 acres with the buildings, she married Henry Hausman.

Description

Farm residence, rectangle with central entrance, two stories with one-story rear kitchen ell, basement, brick masonry construction, sidegable roof, 4/4 and 2/2 double-hung wooden windows, interior brick chimney and end chimney. Smooth-cut stone silld and lintels. Alterations--deteriorated condition, brick stuccoed, front porch ruined, rear additions.
