Mrs. G.W. Mitchler came to Paola Kans with her husband in 1859 and is still a resident of the city. Died May 19, 1907

George W Mitchler - a Pioneer merchant of Paola Kansas came to Paola in 1859 established a general store and carried on the business for a number of years. In 1878 he admitted his four sons into the business. Died Dec. 1893

Born in Germany in 1842. Came to Paola in 1871. Where he died in 1897, and was buried in Paola Cemetery.

Martin Dale was for a long time clerk in Mitchler and Crowell's store: now a prominent citizen of Southern Kansas. Died Nov 1907

Baptiste Peoria. Born in Ill. 1800. Indian Chief First Pres. of the Paola Town Company. Once owned the land on which Paola is located. Came to Kans. 1846. When the tribes removed [to] the Indiant Ter. he went with the[m and] died there in 1874.
