WA Heiskell came to Paola KS in 1854. In 1855 was elected to the house of Repres., in 1856 Co. Clk of Lykins (now Miami) Co. Ks. Was among the first Reg. of deeds, remained a citizen of Paola until his death in 1870.

W.W. Pinneo engaged in the dry goods business until his death. He built the brick building now occupied by Jacob Kochler as a rest-aurant. The picture on the right is that of his wife. Both are deceased.
