The 1977 historic building survey reported that G. Perry Fuller, territorial Indian agent, was the first owner from 1863 to 1865. The house was the home of Rev. John M. Sullivan and his wife Lucy after they arrived in Baldwin in 1877. Lucy Sullivan was elected the town's first woman mayor in 1889 (see B51). In the early twentieth century, the house was used as a residence for the president of Baker University. It was move to the country east of Baldwin in 1980.
