Rooks County Fair
The 1956 Ford Mainline Raffle car and Kansas Forestry Fish and Game Trailer at the Rooks County Fair, August 1956. Following the barbeque and Webster Lake Dedication Ceremony, a dance was held in Stockton. The final item for the day was the raffle for the new Ford which was won by F.L. (Red) Forgue of Zurich, Ks.

Electric Power Plant
Electric Power Plant
The electric power plant, built in 1887, made Stockton one of the first towns in western Kansas and one of the smallest towns in the nation to have electricity. It began as a private business and then sold to the city in 1889. The building was made of locally manufactured brick.

Main Street Christian Church
Main Street Christian Church on the corner of Main and Elm. Notice the poles painted with white. This marked the route of the White Way. Auto tourists were encouraged to travel this route in order to build up the towns along the way.

Stockton High School
Stockton High School
Stockton High School - The Stockton High School building was completed in 1923, replacing the old Academy as the district high school. When the new high school was built just south of this building in 1955, it became the middle school. It served as the middle school until 1994 when it was demolished and replaced with the existing building.

Stockton Grade School
Stockton Grade School - The Stockton Grade School was built in 1941 of native limestone and concrete. This WPA project was designed by H.E. Wheelock. This building is still (2008) used as the elementary school.
