Schnebly in 1892. The valuation increased from $200.00 to $575.00 in 1893. The building was a post office and office with a printing shop in the rear and a hall on the second floor. The post office was located here until after 1927. When the building was illustrated in the 1908 Souvenir, it had a Romanesque rather than the present classical facade. Prairie City was established in 1855 and the cemetery was designated as the settlement grew. Early records of Prairie City cemetery were destroyed by fire in the 1930's. The Mt.
