The existing structure was constructed by the Baldwin City Building Association. The Masonic Hall occupied the upper floor. M.J. Bristow accquired the west half of the property, in 1904 the Masonic Lodge was unable to pay taxes and lost its interest in the building. American Legion Post #228 acquired the east half of the property from C.E. Lockwood in 1919. When the congregation outgrew this hall, services were held in Centenary Hall at Baker University from 1885 to 1904. The church building dedicated February 14, 1904 was destroyed by fire in 1930. He settled first in Lecompton and married Fenruary 22, 1859. Then he and his wife Margaret moved to Palmyra Township in 1861. Meunier was a stone mason and an early Prairie City businessman. He aquired a 250-acre farm and by 1883 he and his wife had six children. Presumably he built his own residence.
